The GNCC annual meeting will be May 14-16 in Saratoga Springs. The guest speaker will be Fred Veale from Canada Curling Stone Co., who will discuss curling stones & equipment. More info and registration form.

Carrie Casab, Melissa Foote, Audrey Foote, and Tammy Delano traveled to Rochester for "Death by Chocolate". They were the B Event runners-up. Yumm!

Olympic Curling School, March 7, 14, 21, 6:00-8:00 pm
Enjoyed your brief introduction? Refine your skills and learn more about the strategy behind the game at the UCC Olympic Curling School. Some of our best curlers got started that way!

Learn to Curl Clinic, March 23, 6:00-9:00 pm (tentative)
An encore event for those that missed out on curling school. This one-day event will provide instruction on delivery, sweeping, and the basic strategy/rules/etiquette of curling. After Curling School, this is the second best way to get a head start on next season. The fee for this event is $30. Email Carol Jones to register. Syllabus.

Follow Team USA at the Official Website, and watch on Paralympic Sport TV. Universal Sports will be airing 2 hour highlights each night (6:00pm and 11:00pm EST) and on demand rewinds of the events.

A great time was had by all at the annual Turkeyspiel Nov. 14th. Team "Pumpkin Pies" led by Ylva Cortright took home the turkeys and Team "Spam" lived up to their name and snagged the turkey spam. Complete results.

A good time was had by all during the Our House is Your House bonspiel. The winners: Liz Williams, Barb Felice, Joe Corona, and Justin Kaido. Congratulations!

 H1N1 influenza is widespread in New York. Please help minimize the spread of this illness, for which few individuals have immunity. Wash hands frequently, cover your cough, use hand sanitizers on the sheets before shaking hands, and if possible sanitize rock handles after games. If you are ill with flu-like symptoms, please remain at home and find a sub. A fact sheet is available for more details about the H1N1 flu.

Notice: The HotShots Curling Camp originally scheduled for October 16-18 has been canceled.

Help introduce new members to our sport. Download and personalize a poster (Word doc) and spread them around. We need you (and your friends) to make this a success. Come on down!

The latest Curlogram is now online. It contains a proposed by-laws change to be voted on Oct 10th, league signups, and more (including the latest calendar).

Nutmeg will have early ice this year. They're hosting several programs, including ice time to practice. Details.

The Empire State bonspiel will be hosted by Utica this year, and Joyce Shaffer is the chair. Start spreading the word, women: this year's theme is Breast Cancer Awareness. More information.

GNCC is running a fundraiser to support new clubs with better rocks/handles. Details.
